Homeschool Resources 2022-2023

Welcome back! I’m so excited to be writing this post, because I am actually really looking forward to starting our homeschool journey this fall. We decided to try homeschooling for a few different reasons and if you turned on the news lately then I’m sure you know at least one of them, but I also just really love teaching and I want to spend that extra time with my boys seeing them learn new things first hand!

When we first decided to try homeschooling I started watching a bunch of YouTube videos about which curriculum to use and these are the options that I liked the idea of best! Once I order everything and look it all over myself, I’ll definitely be updating you all on my thoughts! So let’s get started!

Language Arts

The first curriculum that I had suggested to me and that I saw in quite a few videos online, was from The Good and The Beautiful. You can actually download their old discontinued course set for FREE right now if you want to see what it’s like. Their new course set releases this June! Click here to check that out. I love the layout of this curriculum as well as the beautiful graphics, so I’m very excited to see it all in action!

Along with this Language Arts course set, I’ll also be doing a couple of different writing notebooks. The Good and The Beautiful offers writing curriculum starting with pre-writing all the way to level 7. I’ll also be supplementing with The Handwriting Without Tears series to switch things up a little bit here and there.

Reading

For reading I’m not 100% sure what I’ll be using. I’ve found and heard of a few different resources so it might be a little bit of trial and error this year. Here are a few different links you can check out to see what types of resources I’ll be grabbing!

Click** here** for the Alpha-Phonics book. I’ve heard really good things about this one!

I’ll also be using Bob Books in our reading journey! You can find those on Amazon by clicking here.

Math

For math I’ll be using two different curriculums. Math is definitely not my strong suit, so I feel like I’ll want some variety and choices. The first one is from The Good and The Beautiful, and you can actually print their PDF version for** FREE**! You’ll just need to purchase the Math Box to go along with it or you can buy the physical version with the box included for around $50. I really like the look of this curriculum and after scrolling through the PDF version, I’m excited about the layout. I feel like you really get good quality for the money you spend on these curriculums.

The second math curriculum that I’ve hard good things about is called Kindergarten Math With Confidence. You can check that out on Amazon by clicking here. The bundle comes with the instructor guide and the student workbook and the lessons are supposed to be short and attention grabbing. I’m excited to try it out!

Science/Extra Curriculars

For science and any other extra topics, I’m still doing some research. The Good and The Beautiful does have a course set called Science for Little Hearts and Hands that I’ll check out.

science

I also came across Elemental Science who has an Intro to Science course that looks interesting! There are also so many awesome resources on Teachers Pay Teachers! I can do a whole other blog post just about those in the future!

All in all, I’m very excited to start our homeschooling journey and to start purchasing these resources so that I can give you all a better opinion on all of them! I do have a wish list on Amazon that I’ve been adding to, you can see that HERE and keep checking back, because I’ll be adding to it all summer!
